So after a good three weeks (or something like that), I'll declare the winner of the last topic Jument, with a score of 1-0. At the moment, Reynard finds himself terribly busy, and we'll have to put off our next dual update for a few weeks it looks like. But when we get to it, we'll be discussing the upcoming American Presidential Election. Feel free to look forward to that. Or not. Whatever you want.
In the meantime, I'll try to keep you entertained by myself with some individual musings. Or, at the very least, I'll give you something to think about. Which, if you ask me, is a form of entertainment, but there are those who would disagree with me on that. Anyway, expect an update from me within the next few minutes or so.

The results are in! With a score of 2 to 1 (hooray for more votes than normal!), Jument is this week's winner! On to Topic 10. I had doubts about getting this far, but we seem to be enjoying ourselves. So for our tenth topic, we're going to be talking about our pet peeves. And by pet peeves, I don't mean the standard things that annoy everybody, I mean the things that bug us that other people generally might not notice or be annoyed by. Should be fun.
There have been some issues today about a potential hacking incident, but it's starting to look like it might have been a false alarm (or I randomly solved the problem while messing around with the domain setting earlier, but I doubt that). We'll see what happens in the next few days, and if problems resurface, we'll have to postpone Topic 10. Otherwise, expect it this upcoming Friday, because Mr. Dirty McHypocrite wanted to change our posting day.
See you then (hopefully)!
~Jument
P.S. I know I promised more individual posts, and I still have a bunch planned (I even wrote the ideas down so I wouldn't forget them), it's just that school is keeping me rather busy, and I've been spending my writing time working on some fiction instead. I'll probably start churning those out within the month, though, I just have to get through this coming week. Busy few days ahead.

After a long wait (and I don't think the numbers have changed in the past week or so), it seems I've won the First Impressions topic by a score of 1 to zilch.
I'm unsure about the like/dislike mechanic here, because 1 to 0 seems particularly low, and I'm pretty sure we're getting more than 1 visitor ever week.
I implore you, if you visit, vote for one or both of us. Something to make it more interesting. Getting 100% of the vote because there's only 1 vote is a bit droll.
Anyway, on to Topic #9:
Mr. Jument supplies this topic, on the "Survival of the Species" from an activity in his public speaking class. The prompt is as follows.
The year is 2052. Astronomers have discovered a giant asteroid hurtling directly toward Earth. The size and velocity of the projectile will certainly destroy our planet. However, some scientists have developed a wormhole that can safely transport only five people to an unexplored planet, similar to Earth, that is capable of sustaining human life for the forseeable future.
A global lottery has qualifed 20 people, listed below, to be candidates for the final five survivors of Earth's destruction. You are on a powerful committee whose mission is to chose, from among the lottery winners, FIVE persons who will be sent to a new planet to rebuild civilization.
The lottery winners: -A thirty-year-old pregnant woman -A middle aged male farmer -A young male architect -A young female nurse -A young female astronaut -A middle aged male dentist -A sixty-five year old male doctor -A young male schoolteacher -A middle aged female minister -A young female attorney -A female baby -A teenage boy -A middle aged female executive -A retired male bank president -A middle aged female chemist -A sixty-year-old male philosopher -A young female tennis player -A forty year old nun -An eighty-five year old grandmother -A thirty-five year old male science-fiction writer We will each supply our 5 choices along with our reasoning for each choice.
And while you're at it, maybe post your own choices in the comments of either post (with explanation or not)!
We'll post up our response this Saturday, March 10th. Keep a look out! We promise there won't be a delay this time! Back on schedule!

Turns out both Reynard and I had a busier week than expected, so we're postponing topic 8 for one day. Sorry if you've been checking all day in the hopes of seeing an update. If you hit us up on Facebook or Google+, you'll be notified of updates through those means. There's also a subscription button on both mine and Reynard's pages, but, to be honest, I have no idea if that actually works. I'd be grateful if someone would tell me. ~Jument |

With a score of 1-0 in favor of Reynard, it would seem I have been beaten. Ah, well. It's hard to be unhappy what with the amount of activity we've had on the site within the last week. Do keep coming back, dear readers, and do keep letting us know what you think of what we have to say. And don't forget to vote for your favorites via the like button at the top of the comments! Come back on Saturday to see us post our thoughts on first impressions. Stay tuned, though, because I believe I'll have something else posted between now and then. In other news, in addition to my Google+ page which I use rather infrequently, we're now on Facebook, so feel free to hit us up there. We'll keep that page updated often with news about posts and other things. ~Jument |

Well, I even gave it an extra week and a half, but we ended up still having no votes for either response to topic #6, so we end up with a draw once again. Chalk up another victory for Fox! So, for our next topic, which we'll have due Saturday 1/21, will be on our predictions on human evolution. Where we're going, what's gonna breed out, what new features might pop up from a mutation, and how technology might affect the process. Gonna be fun, plenty of anecdotes. Hopefully our readers will vote this time! Let your friends know too! We're kinda hurting for readers! -Fox |

Wowee, I've had a busy couple of days, but I've finally gotten around to announcing our sixth topic.
'Tis the season, folks, and our Christmas Eve post will be on our favorite holiday memories.
And please, if you wish to give us a gift this holiday season, all we ask for is a simple and free "like" to one of our posts. Just one simple gift and you've fulfilled that social convention and can feel just a little bit better about yourselves!
We'll see you in a few days, people. And to any readers of the Jewish faith, Happy Hanukkah. (You silly Christians can have your "Merry Christmas" on Saturday)
*end terrible holiday banter*

Aaaaannnnnnddddd.... We have a tie! Official score: 0 to 0.
I can't help but wonder if the lack of response is due in part to the increased workload of the last week due to finals and things. Reynard will be posting our next topic in the near future, hopefully we get a bit more feedback on that one.

Wow, fifth topic already. Kind of hard to believe. Anyway, hello there, internet pals! This weekend, we'll be sharing our thoughts on the topic of public vs. private vs. home-schooled education. Should be an interesting read, methinks. Finals are coming quickly for me, though, so I can't promise anything top-notch, but I'll do my best. Don't forget to tell your friends about us! If you like reading us before we hit it big, it gives you hipster bragging rights. And maybe I'll even throw in some brownie points along with those bragging rights for the people who bring in the most readership... Mmm, brownies... ~Jument |

Well, I guess it can't be delayed (read: denied and/or conveniently ignored) any longer, I concede the topic win to Mr. Jument, by a score of 1-0. Hey! That's less votes overall than last topic! Where did everyone go?! :C Well, we hope to see you all back next week for topic #5, and maybe you can bring some friends with you. And if you feel particularly supportive, you can do as I have done and use all your online videogame profiles to advertise for us ("ponyandfox.org" is now my profile quote on my 3DS, Mario Kart 7, and Xbox Live account), which we will of course be very-grateful-but-won't-pay-you for. Until...uh...eventually! -Mr. Reynard |
