Jument Hi, I'm Mr. Jument, also known as Pony, and I'm currently in college studying toward an Aerospace Engineering degree. I currently reside in Pennsylvania, USA, but I am fairly well traveled, having been up and down the east coast multiple times, and I've spent two weeks traveling around Europe. I am fairly fluent in German, so you may see some of that creeping into my writing from time to time. I enjoy a great deal of things, one of which is (gasp) school. I love to learn, in practically any subject, and if I were not working toward an Engineering degree, I would happily try for one in writing or history. But math and physics are my primary loves, and you'll notice that they often spill over into my thought processes, making me a very logical and evidence-prone person. Besides the time I spend on school (which is probably not as much as it should be), most of my time gets taken up by a variety of what one would call 'geeky' activities. I thoroughly enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons, I am an avid fan of Pokemon, both the games and the television show (I still watch it), and my television watching revolves mostly around science fiction (Doctor Who, Firefly, and Stargate are among my favorites). I enjoy computer programming, though I'm still fairly new at it. I love to read, though I don't do it as much as I probably should, and my literary interests have recently turned toward psychology and sociology (Freud wrote some interesting stuff), but I still enjoy a good fantasy novel. Another one of my passions is music; if you asked me to pick a favorite musical genre, I wouldn't be able to. I play the piano and the trumpet, and I've done some compositions, but they're fairly amateurish. I don't get a creative urge very often, but when I do I might do some drawing or painting, or else put some more work into the musical I've been writing for the past year. Not sure if I'll ever actually finish it, but whatever. My experiences in writing have been mostly school-related up until this point, but I've always been pretty good with words. Other than school, I've done a little bit of creative writing, in the form of a few short stories, most of them still unfinished. And I'd post the occasional serious essay to Facebook in a note to see what people had to say. But if I had to pick just one source that helped develop my writing skill above any other, it would be the time I spent, and still spend, on Micronations. It's a hobby that requires a lot of writing to do it properly, and some of my best stories and essays came out of that. Well, that's basically all you need to know about me. If you take nothing else away from this, just know that I am a nerd, and a proud one. Oh, and I like ponies. Deal with it. Reynard Reynard the Fox, at your service. I am a student in university studying Mathematics and German, possibly intending to pursue a doctorate in Mathematics eventually...maybe. I was born in and currently reside in southeast Pennsylvania, although I have spent some time living in Germany (ok, so it was like a month). I speak English natively, I can converse comfortably in German, and I've studied many more languages (my current better ones are Swedish and Finnish, although I've formally studied Japanese and Russian as well). Like my counterpart, I take great enjoyment in school and learning. I, however, tend to stay within the bounds of mathematics, mathematical sciences, foreign language, and arts. My current obsessions are abstract algebra and algebraic geometry, which I intend to specialize in if I do pursue a graduate degree. Outside of school, I enjoy learning about music and metallurgy. I'm attempting to try my hand at blacksmithing, and I enjoy chainmailling. I am a geek as well, despite my manlier hobbies. I am a fan of tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons, PDQ, Shadowrun, and some other d20 systems. I also get much enjoyment out of Pokemon (the similarities just keep piling up, don't they?), I try my best to watch the anime, though I've only watched everything through season 10 and one or two episodes from the current series, I own many of the games, and I'm currently embroiled in the Pokemon Adventures manga. I watch a lot of documentaries on television, but I do watch sitcoms just like everyone else (BAZINGA!). I read a lot of fantasy novels, and my favorite author is Raymond E. Feist, and a few months ago I turned full nerd and started collecting comics, my favorite characters/series are Cable, Deadpool, and Hope Summers/Messiah Complex/Messiah Wars/Generation Hope/etc. Philosophically, I try to follow the works and thoughts of Carl Sagan (I just want to make a goddamn apple pie, but I'm up to my ears in universes!) I am a more rock-oriented musician than Mr. Jument. I play guitar, bass guitar, and drums. I enjoy playing punk rock, progressive rock, grunge, and metal, but I listen to a large variety of music. I've written a fair bit of music, but I'm not the best lyricist, so I'm not particularly proud of it yet. I do write some creative short stories, but they're often disjointed and odd, so I'm not particularly proud of those yet either. I am an avid micronationalist as well, and a lot of Mr. Jument's experiences have been in the micronation I founded called Toketi (that's pronounced "toe-key-tie", don't ask why). I founded Toketi in 2006 after I found myself uninterested in most other micronations, and it has been running strong (mostly) since. While my activity there has waned, I become more active in another micronation named Shireroth, which is one of the oldest micronations on the internet, and there I've recently served several terms as Kaiser. I tend to be a more political and abstract micronationalist than Mr. Jument. In order to better understand my various rants, know that I've been diagnosed with many psychological maladies (Depression with psychosis, ADHD, Asperger's, and executive function disorders), so if I seem a bit crazy, it's just because I'm actually crazier than that. CRAZY LIKE A FOX! MUAHAHA! *ends before terrible things happen* |
